The piece is of two females, one holding a lyre and her arm around the shoulders of the other, who holds a sketch pad and pen. I have a very similar (near) matching piece that depicts a near naked woman reaching toward a mirror being held by the other. A baby holding a dove sits at their feet. It is perhaps the finest and most interesting example I have seen of this type of work.
